As a part of the “SME Development Loan” facility which has been structured and approved by the Board of Directors, the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Trade and Development Bank signed loan agreements with 3 financial institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran on 29 April 2009.
With the signature of SME Loan Agrements with Bank Mellat, Bank Keshavari and Bank Parsian, the ECO Trade and Development Bank provides US $ 15 million for each Bank respectively which reachs up to US $ 45 million in total sum for the purpose of providing financing to Small and Medium Sized Companies (SMEs) based in Iran.
SME Development Loan with a maturity period of up to 4 years with one year grace has been structured to provide necessary support to the SME sector, which are playing a major role towards economic growth by creating employment opportunities, alleviation of poverty and development of trade in the region.
