The ECO Trade and Development Bank organised a high profile executive dinner with the participation of the Governors of the Central Banks and the Ministers of Finance from the ECO Member countries on October 7, 2009, in İstanbul.
Following the welcome speech of Mr. Murat Ulus, the President of the Bank; Mr. İbrahim Çanakcı, the Chairman of the ECO Bank and the Undersecretary of the Treasury of Turkey; Mr. Shaukat F. Tarin, the Minister of Finance of Pakistan and Former Governor of the ECO Bank and Dr. Hamid Borhani, the Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Iran and the Governor of the ECO Bank made their statements. The Governors of the Bank invited non-member ECO countries to join to the ECO Bank to make it more efficient and effective for the overall development of the ECO region.
Dr. Mahmoud Bahmani, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran; Mr. Marat Sultanov, the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzistan; Mr. Syed Salim Raza, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and Mr. Durmuş Yılmaz, the Governor of the Central Bank of Turkey participated at the dinner as Guests of Honour.
The dinner represented an opportunity to share the point of views and the experiences on the opportunities as well as the challenges which effects the development of the ECO region.
