OCE with Operational Support

The Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) provides economic outlook and prospects of the ECO region supported by rigorous data analysis. At the same time, global economic issues and trends that are linked to and have the potential to have an impact on the Bank’s functions and operations are also monitored.

OCE's research activities are aimed to help strengthen the Bank’s institutional priorities and country operations. The department supports the Bank's strategic policy by conducting research on macroeconomics, financial markets, governance, and monetary policy.

OCE department analyzes global economic trends, monitors regional economic trends and national economic developments of the member countries. In particular, macroeconomic development and central bank policy rates of major economies are monitored and analyzed for monthly ALCO meetings. Support to business departments is provided for credit proposals by performing relevant industry and economic analysis. OCE also provides global financial outlook and interest rate forecast.
