Mr. Aamir Nazir Gondal

Mr. Aamir Nazir Gondal assumed his responsibilities as Vice President on 12th August 2024 after approval of the appointment by the Board of Directors of the Bank.
Mr. Gondal has 25 years plus public sector experience with the Government of Pakistan including senior positions with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce
and the department of the Auditor General of Pakistan. Prior to joining the Bank, he was serving as Additional Finance Secretary (External Finance) with the Ministry
of Finance. He has five years experience of working with the International Financial Institutions, Multilateral Development Banks and Commercial Banks to raise external
financing for the Government of Pakistan. In this role, he led the team in Finance Ministry for successful conclusion of Stand By Arrangement (SBA) in 2023 and Staff
Level Agreement for Extended Fund Facility (EFF) with the International Monetary Fund(IMF) in 2024. He has successfully executed several policy based programs with the
World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank with reforms aimed at sustainable economy, domestic resource mobilization, capital
market development, energy sector resilience, women inclusive finance, human capital development, public private partnership , social protection and building climate
resilience. He also successfully executed quick emergency related disbursements from the IMF, ADB & AIIB during COVID and floods of 2022. He managed commercial loans
and deposits portfolio of the Federal Government by timely refinancing and roll-overs besides executing trade financing facilities with the ITFC and ETDB. He liaised
with the central bank of Pakistan on matters related to balance of payments and foreign exchange regime.
Mr. Gondal held the position of Joint Secretary (Foreign Trade) in the Ministry of Commerce from 2016 to 2018, where he was responsible for market access and trade
promotion with Europe, Americas, Turkey and Russia. He led the team for execution of Biennial Reviews of the European Union’s GSP+ market access to Pakistan in 2016
and 2018. He co-chaired the Pakistan-EU sub-group on trade in Brussels and Pakistan-US TIFA inter-sessional in Washington DC besides leading Commerce Ministry in joint
trade committee meetings with Turkey, Russia, Italy, Korea and Japan. He was Pakistan’s Commercial Counsellor in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 2013 to 2016 and played
a key role in enhancing bilateral trade and investment. He initiated the institution of joint trade committee and the joint Pakistan-Korea FTA feasibility study.
He has also served as the Director General (Foreign& International) with the Department of Auditor General of Pakistan and First Secretary(Finance & Accounts) in Embassy
of Pakistan, Washington DC.
Mr. Gondal has represented Ministry of Finance on the Board of Directors of Pakistan LNG Ltd., SAARC Development Fund, Pakistan Domestic Sakuk Ltd., Second Pakistan Domestic
Sakuk Ltd., Pakistan International Sakuk Ltd., and the Audit Committee of the ECO Trade and Development Bank. He was also the CEO of Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificate Company
Limited (INPCCL) in 2023-24.
He holds a Master’s degree from the Quaid e Azam University Islamabad, BA from Government College Lahore and schooling at the Cadet College Hasanabdal. He is married with
two children. His Interests include cricket, nature and traveling.
